WiSpire connects the South Norfolk Broads

16th March 2016

WiSpire has launched a new service from Cantley sugar factory offering residents and businesses within a 16km radius speeds up to 30mb/s and a better service than is currently available in much of this area.

Owned and managed by British Sugar PLC, the factory provides an optimal location for WiSpire to launch our first large scale transmission site. This means the service will be able to provide a fast and reliable broadband service to smaller villages and pockets of houses across one of the most rural areas in Norfolk.

We have identified that thousands of broadband users across rural Norfolk suffer dire connect speeds. Our new service from Cantley provides a significant step change in the speed and quality of service that we can deliver and positions WiSpire as a true next generation provider. Our wireless service will reach out to those rural not-spots, providing much-needed broadband connectivity to those people who wouldn’t otherwise get it through a fibre alternative.

This new service follows the completion of a significant upgrade on our existing church-based transmitters which has provided extra capacity in our network, to support a significant increase in the number of customers using the service.
